we could conjure
a hearth and
you let your hair
down like a pour
of molten gold
from a jeweller’s
trembling hand

disgorging precious
ambergris.

I usually fancy pale-skinned brunettes, but I have to say that some redheads (with hair like “spun gold” and skin like cream) are outstandingly beautiful.
