FOR THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION

FOR THE FEAST OF
THE ASSUMPTION

In Irish not simply Máire
but Muire for the Virgin Mary
like murine for a mouse
in Bethlehem the “house
of bread” bred Christ
to feed the ages then
snug as a dormouse
in a Roman glirarium
fell asleep to rise
from her Dormition.

It was past time for me to link my favorite cartoon brunette and the bit about sleep reminded me that this one has not been linked. No comparisons intended.

While I know that you don’t like her for rolling her r’s, she undeniably French. So much so, that she is drafted to sing the National Anthem. This song is very French.

I don’t know if you or your readers are into American Blues, but this is the most outstanding example that I have seen in a long time. Joe Bonamassa outplays himself and gets a standing ovation. Sorry, it’s not the least bit French.

It has to be the dead of winter there and the thought of that is depressing enough. If brunettes won’t do it, how about an animal video?

Julian! You came out of hibernation! I was beginning to worry.
This is serious. I have been hearing from too many sources that police in NSW have gone crazy. The last is on this video out of Canada from an outfit that Justin Trudeau doesn’t like.

Police should not go crazy. They’re outnumbered. Even if the population is reduced to garden implements, they’re outgunned.

Will S. of Patreactionary wrote a post about Australia and what is going on in Victoria.
Would you post a comment? That would make you the only Australian to do so.

I stumbled across this watching a compilation of Sabaton songs arranged chronologically. It honors Australia. My father once saw the paperwork for the Silver Star. It’s about an inch thick. There are only three more pages for the Congressional Medal of Honor. He was appreciated.

Tonight I watched a recent version of The Man in the Iron Mask. While it failed at the box office, it had an excellent cast. Maybe it was compared to Richard Lester’s masterpieces. Playing Louis XIV’s mother was Anne Parillaud. Here is her shootout scene from La Femme Nikita.

A drop dead gorgeous French teacher at the DLI wanted to see the movie and I had to warn her off. She did make Rambo look average.
I thought it was past time for a short haired French brunette.

This was one of my favorites scenes from that movie. No violence. I had forgotten how good a movie it was, even though I had to read subtitles.
