Australian Bushfires, January 2020

There is no treatment for these burns.

I woke up on Mars – by the yellow sky.
The smoke – remains of burned forest.
There is no treatment for these burns,
burns to the bone of country.

Australia’s gentle, stupid marsupials
have no answers, do not understand
the question; they approach men
for water and to do something for them.

The hunted, haunted eyes,
their singed, ragged fur,
and the dead they left behind,
mummified in the heat,
the kangaroo still standing
in death, as still as on a coin.

There is no treatment for these burns.

We are in Canberra, which is currently surrounded by fires, but most are not close at present.

Six months from now, you’ll be reading about California going through this and they have to deal with firebugs too.
I once dated a woman that threw lit cigarettes out the window. I bought her an ashtray because I knew that she would pass through Oregon on the way to British Columbia. Oregon doesn’t bother with fines. It’s go straight to jail.

After posting, I checked Oregon law. It is a Class B misdemeanor and I doubt that a car from California would be shown much mercy. My information was over ten years old and from only one source.

It may help to watch something unseasonal with my favorite cartoon brunette.

There have been so many wildfires in California over the years, that I believe they were the ones that developed the “water bomber” by retrofitting tanks to the outside of a DC-10 no longer wanted for passenger service. I wish that I could find the original. It had walking bears on the wings and tail just like on the state flag.

It could be that Youtube is trying to increase awareness of Australia’s plight, but over the last few days, I have gotten more koala bear videos in my recommended feed than I have ever seen.

It may also be the awful Greta Thunberg meme. I have responded to that one elsewhere linking the charge from the 1987 movie “The Lighthorsemem.”

Feminists never let an opportunity to bash men doing good works pass. Is it just me, or are Australian feminists exceptionally vicious?

We don’t perhaps have a lot of feminists in Australia, but some of the most batshit ones. Clementine Ford is probably the craziest.

It may be a good idea to have this at the ready. It should send her out of the room screaming. The song dates back to when California achieved statehood in 1850.

        Julian,
After watching this from Rebel News in Canada, I have to wonder as Canada has the worst reputation for feminism. They don’t doxx ordinary SAHMs.

Youtube keeps suggesting koala videos to me. Since you love dogs, this one is doubly good. This poor dog keeps looking up at his human asking,”What do I do now, boss?” The koala was recently turned away by his mom to live on his own and has adopted the dog. Both I and the dog hope this is temporary.
