Just heard that Jennifer Lawrence dropped out of elementary school to pursue her acting career. Which means that the person who has vowed to “fix our democracy” in a year, has the same educational attainment as Jethro Clampett.

Oops, Jethro was a Bodine, and nephew to Jed Clampett.

I have to wonder how they deal with the dissonance. For the movie, Red Sparrow, she claims that doing nude scenes empowered her while she must still be angry about her private nude pictures being hacked from the cloud in 2014. I can’t be the only one who is getting tired of these contradictions.

I am not going to see the movie, but if you are interested in the history behind it, this is a pretty sensational Ukrainian production that should be of interest.

No contradiction. The subject is not “showing nude body to the public”. The subject is “who gets to show it?”
“Nobody has the right to show my nude body to the world without my permission” is a statement that makes sense. Or at least it should if you contemplate for a moment your own attitude toward whether you should have the right to control what is yours.

Strawman.
She is deliberately being a tease and a showoff.
She should not be showing it to anyone but her husband. And, she does not have a husband yet.

Also:
From Wikipedia, about JL: “Her films have grossed over $5.5 billion worldwide, and she was the highest-paid actress in the world in 2015 and 2016.”
She did all of this without getting naked (that’s what she said; research that if you must). She has already proven that she has chops. So now, now that she’s chosen to get naked, don’t default to thinking that she is just a pretty, naked lady. She is more than that.
That, more or less, is what she means by “don’t objectify me”. I’ve read what she has said about the issues addressed in this post and my previous post above. I’ve summarized her views on the issues.
Also – she was spotted by a talent scout at age 14. A little past grade school. And kids in acting must be tutored. So her education did not stop just because she entered the biz. A little reading / research will demonstrate that many child actors left school and were tutored on the set.
I’m not defending JL here. I’m defending logic. I’m defending thoughtful comments versus comments devoid of any background information informing them.

There is something very wrong with all this. She is being allowed to commercialize herself and it is through leveraging men’s libido. Prostitution is more honest.

Actresses were historically not considered much different from whores. 20th century technology was a game changer in that regard since it allowed global distribution, which allowed performers to accumulate disproportionate wealth and power. I believe that in the 21st century technology will reverse this trend by democratizing content creation and that it’s already happening.

I think, that with this subject, we have hit a sore spot for men. We have to be tired of being endlessly teased by these women when nothing can come of it. Worse yet, they have managed to make us feel guilty for being teased. It is easier for me to defend myself against these manipulations now that I am aware of it. For a lot of us, it must still be going on beneath consciousness.

It’s not uncommon for celebrities or musicians to drop out of school at a young age to fulfill their dreams. While many attend school on the set with a private tutor, Jennifer Lawrence declined all of that and is now one of the biggest actresses on the planet and claims to be “self-educated,”

She is scantily clad with full makeup mask and her tits out… and she doesn’t want to be objectified. The cognitive dissonance is so loud on this one.

I suppose the response would be: if I do it to myself it is “empowering”. But if you notice it in the wrong way, it is “objectification”.
The truth is that women objectify themselves and each other at least as much as men objectify them.

That’s women’s solipsism at work along with a large dose of the permissiveness of Western civilization. The end result is they think they can treat their sexuality as if it’s a sharpshooter’s rifle (attracting only the men they find attractive) when it’s really more like a sawed-off shotgun (attracts all men).

The video clip you showed tells of its own validity in the first minute, describing John Profumo as British Prime Minister. He was what we would now call the Minister of Defence. But for a voice-over for a video about sex expoinage, we would have to go with the comment of Mandy Rice Davies: “Well, he would say that, wouldn’t he?”

fuzziewuzziebear provided it.
Good points.

Objectified or not, her outfit screams weakness. She’s putting her shoulders forward to press her breasts outward instead of standing up straight, and her makeup is so thick as to function as a shield. She has no freedom of movement without risking her nipples being exposed, and the dress overall flatters her less than a well designed gunny sack.
If that’s feminine strength, give me the so-called “weakness” my wife shows, which is about 100x stronger than this, not to mention 1000x sexier.
