Realistically it is most likely that Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States.
A couple of things occur to me.
One is that should she win, as I wrote recently, this will not be business-as-usual. Hillary will change the office and the world’s perception of America. She will leave America changed profoundly. Not only because of what she is, but because that is her stated intention.
The other point is that she plans to open up the borders of the United States. This will mean, most obviously, more Hispanics in the country. This has one clear upside for her party but one potential downside, should Hispanics gain a large measure of political clout.
The upside is that Hispanics will mostly vote Democrat. The downside is that they are Catholics who will be unhappy with abortion. Hillary will want to keep abortion freely available for her own class of liberal WASP women.
Her recently revealed interest in supporting liberal Catholic groups makes sense in this regard. She wants Hispanic Catholics neutered as a possible pro-life and anti-feminist force.
