Race memory

It is strange to reflect as a man on the fact that we each have generations of forefathers who also met some appealing girl at a dance or somewhere and eventually married her. Perhaps similar-looking girls; just in different costumes.

I have written about the possible role of “race memory” before, for example “genetic similarity theory“. Perhaps it is not the most scientific theory, but it has some instinctive appeal.

My sense is that women have a better appreciation for this kind of historical and social continuity. Or they used to.
