Bulbs

A poem by “Mrsktc“:

BULBS

I dig the bulb up from the mulched tilled ground
fat, cool I imagine its mandrake life
unmoved in darkness dormant  until  found
its head crowning and I like a midwife,
not knowing the pain, touched and guided out
the roots, and in my caked hands there you are!
