My bride

My bride stands on our

honeymoon beach, wearing

only dabs of sand but with

the whole ocean glistening

in her eyes, and I can tell

that I am not alone beside

the shore any more.

Let us know if you still feel that you are not alone anymore when you write about your bride of 40 years. That should be time enough to get a feel for whether the female can ever actually understand the male. “Being understood” a necessary part of not feeling alone. Other than that, I like your verse.
