Just awful

Didact’s Reach responds to some journalistic drivel.

Among all the condescending advice to the modern man to get in touch with his feminine side and be the “little spoon” sometimes and to be deft with a melon baller, there is this:

“16. The modern man lies on the side of the bed closer to the door. If an intruder gets in, he will try to fight him off, so that his wife has a chance to get away.”

So, he acts like a woman except when he has to be the man and die for his wife.

What a great load of … advice.

I would die for my wife, but I am not interested in the rest of this idiot’s terrible advice.

Of course Brian Lombardi is presumably a journalist, so he has to 1) write something that will please his PC publication and 2) write something (anything). Lists of this kind are the sign of a lazy journalist short on ideas.

  1. Who TF is Wu-Tang?

    • I don’t know and I don’t care.

Perhaps because I am an Australian, and perhaps because I make no effort to be hip, I did not understand quite a few of this nuff-nuff’s references.

Yes certainly all us real men lust for a good melon baller for our tool box. Amazing the kind of person that even thinks up this nonsense. My hope is that it was a women writing under a male persona, the fact that shoe shopping was number one on the list makes me think this was in fact written by a female journalist. Or a drag queen. Not that you can tell the difference these days.

    • I suppose it could have been written by a woman. There was another recent piece by a supposedly resigned male feminist cuckold that got a lot of attention, which was plausibly suggested to have been actually written by a woman under a man’s name.

Unfortunately this current article probably was written by a man. The kind of man that is desperate to sell a story to build his journalist career, perhaps, and doesn’t mind giving other men bad advice that will make nine out of ten women lose respect for them.

It’s always the same shit. “Be a man” when it benefits a woman but be a woman when it benefits a woman. No thanks. Tell you what pal, YOU get killed for your dominatrix Mr. Pussyboy.

Do men like this actually believe what they’re promoting?

    • The old social contract (between husbands and wives and between men and women in general) used to be: the woman shows some respect and the man offers protection.

There is an echo of that in this recent quite good and traditional statement by a Catholic bishop:

But now the “progressive” rule seems to be, “you protect me from a dangerous intruder, but heh buster, you betta know your way around a melon baller, you little kitchen bitch”.

Here is another ridiculous example of journalists’ lack of balance:

      As I wrote there:

“From the same set of points of relationship advice for women:

“Your Mr. Right should not rely on you to be his life mechanic — you’re not there to fix his financial, psychological or emotional problems.”

“Life can be hard, and your guy needs to be someone who is dedicated to turning your cloudy days blindingly sunny.”

This is the advice to women. He needs to support YOU but you don’t need to help HIM.”

“This is the advice to women. He needs to support YOU but you don’t need to help HIM.”

Yup. They want me to be some collared slave bitch to a woman. Fuck them!

The entitlement these people display is incredible.

      • And the media seriously wonders why men are more actively avoiding relationships and marriage more and more as time goes by?! Are they just as cognitively dissonant as the man-hating, feminised Western Women that they toady for?

      • The media just seem to detest and disregard men.

I remember one story a few years ago about how women were taking over zookeeper jobs in America. It was all presented as good news. It is almost as if men don’t need jobs and we should all just go away and die.

Just one example. But quite extraordinary.
