My imaginary friend Dulcelina

I get a few spam comments on this blog. What interests me is that many of them purport to be comments from women with very rare names. I can only assume that the spammers are a) using girl’s names because they sound more appealing and trustworthy and b) the spammers have a very long list of rare girl’s names that they use.

Today I heard from “Dulcelina” and “Anice”. They are real names. I checked.

  1. And now “Andresa”. Another real, but rare, girl’s name.

  2. Today, "Duda" and "Adriana" spammed me. The former name is from The Netherlands, among other places. The spammers are obviously working off a long list of girl's names.
