I like this map of the countries of the world by population a lot. It gives one an insight into why some countries seem to loom so large on the world stage, although they are small on the map. The Philippines, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Nigeria, Mexico, Iran; and even Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Peru; are obviously more populous and therefore have a louder voice in the world than one would expect from their geographic size. And of course India and China loom very large.
I do have some quibbles. Because the map seems to simply inflate an entire country based on its population, some parts of countries look too big; for example, West Irian and Kalimantan within Indonesia. Java is the main population centre in Indonesia, but that is not made obvious in this map.
